Find out what Zambia has to offer, and learn why countless visitors from all cornerstones of the world rate this as one of the top places to visit in Africa, with a host of Zambia facts that cabinet the country’s highlights…

Victoria Falls – This UNESCO World Heritage Site is an absolute must-see, and is accessible from Livingstone in Zambia. The Falls are a massive 1, 708 meters wide, with a drop between 90m and 107m depending on the season. In the rainy season, the Falls live up to their nickname of ‘mosi-oa-tunya’ (the smoke that thunders), while in the dry season the Falls are easier to see, either at viewing points or via micro-light aircraft/helicopter flight, which is a fun way to get a bird’s eye view over the majestic Vic Falls.

Game Reserves – Travel in Zambia is nothing without a visit to one of the country’s excellent game reserves. The largest and most remarkable of these includes South Luangwa National Park, Kafue National Park, Lower Zambezi National Park and Liuwa Plains. Game that can be seen in Zambia’s national parks includes large numbers of Elephant, as well as Lion, Leopard, Buffalo, Rhino and many species of antelope, hyena and a number of other game species. Birdlife is also a mecca, with a host of beautiful species including the ubiquitous lilac-breasted roller.

Adventure Activities – Zambia is not known as Africa’s adventure capital for nothing, and with a huge range of activities on offer, there is something to suit even the most daring of thrill-seekers. Bungee jumping, abseiling, rock climbing, cave exploring, microlight and scenic flights, white river rafting and many other pursuits are on offer – or for those who prefer a more relaxed pace, sunset river cruises, walking trails and curio shopping are also on offer.
