About African Safari Guru Matthew has been sport fanatic and nature lover from the age of a little boy where his interest has always been with outdoor activities or busy in the veldt studying from the smallest ant to the largest mammal, the African Elephant! You would never find Mathew house bound and this is why he has such a good tan today. Matthew also did Body Guarding for VIP’s at big events on a part time basis previously to studying Game Ranging and Lodge Management in 2005. Matthew wanted to achieve a diploma in the industry to uplift his levels in the Safaris industry. Before and between this time Matthew also did a lot of volunteer work in the bush for the experience and gaining more knowledge as he is a very passionate and enthusiastic person always willing to learn more about nature and its ways? After finishing his diploma Matthew moved up to Limpopo side to broaden his knowledge and gain more experience in the African Bush and do what Matthew loves best “Nature Conservation” and “Field Guiding”. It is the Magnificent CHEETAH which always seems to win Matthews soft spot... After 22 years down the line of travelling to Zambia, Botswana, Mozambique, Tanzania, Namibia, Zanzibar and South Africa and having guided as a guide/game ranger for the past 7 years, Matthew decided he had enough experience and knowledge to start his own Tour Operating Business after the arrival of his new born son and headed east of Johannesburg only 10 min from OR Tambo Int. Airport where African Safari Guru is now operating as Proud Tour Operating Business. Matthew is now 32 years of age and male. He had officially started up his Tour Operation and Transfer Business in May 2009 and has built it up slowly to find his way around the rights and the wrongs and how to run the show in an orderly fashion. Being a genuine gentleman and having worked in 5 star lodges out in the bush as well as working with tourist and locals from all cornerstones of the world, his desire is to share his heartfelt passion as a nature lover to locals and visitors of all ages.
